SP national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday filed his nomination from the Karhal assembly of Mainpuri. Akhilesh won the by-election to the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat in the year 2000. Then in 2004 also he contested the election of MP from Kannauj. According to the nomination papers filed then, his assets were 2 crore 31 lakhs. Whereas in the nomination he has filed from Karhal today, his assets have reached 40.4 crores. That is, his wealth has increased 17 times in 22 years.
However, the pace of growth of Akhilesh’s wealth has varied. For example, when he was in government, his wealth increased at a rate of about 4 times. This has been his biggest growth. At the same time, during the rule of the Yogi government, his wealth increased by only 10% in three years.
Wealth grew at double the rate between 2004 and 2009
In 2004, when Akhilesh came to contest the election of Kannauj Lok Sabha, he told in his affidavit that he had assets worth Rs 2 crore 31 lakh 42 thousand 705. During this, Akhilesh told that he does not even have any vehicle in his name. Whereas wife Dimple had jewelery worth 23 lakhs as mentioned in the affidavit.
In 2009, Akhilesh once again entered the electoral fray from Kannauj. According to his affidavit then, Akhilesh had assets worth Rs 4 crore 85 lakh 82 thousand 202. That is, in 5 years, his wealth increased at twice the rate. In these five years, Akhilesh Yadav had a Pajero worth 19 lakhs and Dimple Yadav had a Corolla car worth 6 lakhs.
Whereas the jewelery owned by Dimple also grew at double the speed and it increased from 23 lakhs in 2009 to 46 lakhs. Not only this, Akhilesh had also shown a mobile set worth 89 thousand and a musical system worth 22 thousand in his affidavit.
MLC formed in 2012, assets increased by 4 crores in 3 years
After winning the 2012 assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav had to resign from the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. He reached the House through the Legislative Council. From MP to MLC, his assets increased only 1.82 times. According to the affidavit filed in 2012, Akhilesh has declared his assets worth Rs 8 crore 84 lakh 83 thousand 492. In 3 years he lent 22 lakhs to Dimple Yadav.
Not only this, Akhilesh also lent 1 crore to his brother Prateek Yadav. While the Samajwadi Party was also given a loan of 1 lakh. At the same time, the jewelery of Dimple Yadav increased further. By 2012, Dimple had jewelery worth 59 lakhs.
Lok Sabha reached again after 7 years, assets increased by 4 times
Akhilesh Yadav did not contest elections in 2017. After completing his MLC tenure in 2018, he contested from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat in 2019. By the time he filed his affidavit here, his assets had increased by 4.27 times to 37 crore 78 lakh 59 thousand 166.
Akhilesh had movable assets of 5 crores in 2012 while in 2019 it increased to 11 crores. While the immovable assets were worth 3.50 crores in 2012, it went up to 26 crores in 2019.
Wealth increased only by 10% in 3 years
Akhilesh’s assets have increased only by 10% in 3 years while being an MP. Whereas as CM, his assets had increased 4 times in 7 years. Though in opposition, Akhilesh and his wife believed more in savings.
Akhilesh’s movable assets were 7 crores in 2019, then it increased to 8 crores in 2022. At the same time, Dimple’s movable assets have also increased by 1 crore. Dimple Yadav did not buy any jewelery during 3 years. Its value is still made only 59 lakhs.
His rival Baghel’s assets are 5 times less than that of Akhilesh
BJP has fielded SP Baghel in Karhal against Akhilesh. Baghel is currently holding the post of Union Minister. However, according to the affidavit he has filed, SP Baghel’s assets are 5 times less than that of Akhilesh Yadav.
The total assets of SP Baghel is 8 crore 55 lakh 86 thousand. Whereas Akhilesh Yadav’s assets are more than 40 crores. SP Baghel also has a 315 bore rifle and 32 bore pistol. Baghel was elected MP from Agra in 2019. Then his assets were 7 crore 42 lakhs.
