Upon Modi’s arrival on the second leg of his official state visit, President Biden along with the First Lady received the Prime Minister at the White House in Washington DC. The dinner included pasta and ice cream, the President’s favorite food. The dinner is also being attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan.
PM Modi’s convoy stopped at South Portico at around 7:36 pm. He was received by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. The camaraderie between the leaders was evident as they were seen laughing and chatting.
The first couple presented Prime Minister Modi a handmade, antique American book galley from the early 20th century, among other gifts. PM Modi also presented gifts to the Biden couple, which included a special Mysore sandalwood box and a silver idol of Lord Ganesha, handmade by a master craftsman from Rajasthan.
