Madurai: The postal department has assured to provide all the forms related to the customers here. Tamil As well as english. Tamil Nadu Circle Chief Postmaster General B Selvakumar has released the Madurai MP. has assured that su venkatesan in person on Wednesday.
This was in response to the MP’s letter to the Chief Postmaster General that the forms were available only in English and Hindi. The MP had said that forms like money order and small savings scheme were available only in the above two languages, making it difficult for the common man, who is comfortable only in Tamil.
“Suitable instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities to receive all customer related forms in the post offices, viz. Print post office savings schemes, money orders, and others in Tamil and English (bilingual) and distribute them immediately to all post offices in Tamil Nadu circle,” Selvakumar said in the letter.
Venkatesan said the top postal department official in the state has assured to make money order and savings scheme related forms available bilingually in all 14,000 post offices in Tamil Nadu in the next two weeks. The officer assured that about 40 other forms would also be printed and sent to all the post offices in a month.
The MP thanked the postal department for the immediate action.
