Pornography case: Mumbai crime branch files chargesheet against Raj Kundra and others

Mumbai: The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on Wednesday (September 15) submitted a 1500-page supplementary charge sheet against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra in the alleged pornography case before the Sessions Court, said an ANI report. Chargesheet has been filed against Raj Kundra and others involved in the case.

The Crime Branch had on July 19 arrested Raj Kundra for his alleged involvement in the production and dissemination of obscene material on the mobile application. It had filed a chargesheet in April this year against nine people in an alleged pornographic film racket case.

Raj Kundra has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

According to an ANI report, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged pornography case, in which Raj Kundra was arrested. The SIT is probing all the FIRs registered in the case separately.

Last month, the Bombay High Court dismissed applications filed by Kundra and his aide Ryan Thorpe, challenging the magisterial court’s remand order and seeking release in the case. couple is currently In jail in judicial custody.

Shetty was also questioned by a team of Crime Branch officials as part of the probe into the alleged porn racket case. He denied knowing the nature of the content, which was published on the Hotshots app.
