The news of her death was first revealed in a post shared on her official Instagram handle. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.
Meanwhile, Rakhi Sawant is facing criticism and being brutally trolled for joking about her death. Rakhi posted a video on social media, saying, “You can’t leave your own people. You were so bold and beautiful. Tell me you are joking, Poonam.” She added, “Poonam, tu mujhe humesha kehti thi tum Mercedes ho, Range Rover ho, Lamborghini ho. Aur Rakhi tu Nano car hai. Aj main kehti hu, haan main Nano car hu.” She also added that Poonam was her good friend and a good soul. “Itni badi cheez unhone chupayi.”
The video hasn’t gone down well with netizens. One user wrote, “Rakhi won’t even spare a dead person for her footage, started her drama already”. Another wrote, “This is shameful”. “How can she act like this?” read another comment.
On the work front, Poonam was last seen in the first season of Lock Upp hosted by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Though she did not win the show, she did expand her fan base. The first season of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp was won by stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. Lock Upp had 14 contestants including Payal Rohatgi, Kaaranvir Bohra, Anjali Arora, Babita Phogat among others.
