Pooja Bedi is one of the powerful actresses of the industry. She is known to keep her thoughts straight and not to restrain them just to impress anyone. Kabir Bedi’s daughter did not impress the audience much during her film career but certainly managed to rise to stardom with her Marilyn Monroe moment in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Recently, the actress opened up about her late mother Protima Bedi’s biopic.
In an interview with ETimes, Pooja shared her thoughts about her mother’s biopic. He confirmed that a biopic on the late Odissi dancer is being planned. Spilling beans, Pooja reveals that Balaji Motion Pictures has taken the option rights to make the biopic and the process is underway.
Pooja’s mother Protima Bedi was one of the leading Odissi dancers of her time. She started her career as a model but later turned to classical dance. He also started a dance school called Nrityagram in a village near Bangalore. She was Kabir Bedi’s first wife and they have two children, Pooja and Siddharth. The dancer was rising to fame but decided to take the path of spirituality and transform into a “sannyasin”. He lost his life in a landslide in 1998 during the pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar.
Pooja was close to her mother and wanted to show her how to best portray the life of a dancer living on her own terms. When asked about the actress she thinks would be a perfect fit for the role, Pooja said, “The narrative is the most important aspect that should be focused first.” Since this project is close to her heart, she personally wants to contribute to the project. The actress further added, “I will be involved in this project from scripting to the final product.”
Meanwhile, Pooja recently completed 20 years of her popular film, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. In an interview with the news portal, he described his film as ahead of its time. In the film, the actress was seen in a sexy avatar and for this she got a lot of praise.
