Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma has said that Samajwadi Party, its allies RLD and BSP are competing among themselves and no one will come close to BJP in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections 2022.
Speaking to News18, Sharma said that the opposition parties – Congress, SP-RLD, AIMIM and Bahujan Samaj Party – will not be able to garner even 100 seats in the 403-seat assembly, and expressed confidence that the ruling BJP will hold 300-plus seats.
He said, ‘SP’s competition is with BSP. Either SP will get one or two seats more than BSP, or BSP will get 1-2 seats more than SP. And don’t take AIMIM lightly. It is also emerging as a significant segment, though its outlook has been negative. The Congress will not get as many seats as it got last time, but they will all compete among themselves, and none of them will be close to the BJP in UP,” Sharma said.
