In Rajasthan, politics has heated up after a case of gangrape was registered against the son of Congress MLA Johrilal Meena. On Sunday, BJP leader Jitendra Gothwal sent a train ticket to Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. He had invited Priyanka to Rajasthan to get justice for the victim in the rape case of MLA son.

On Monday, CM Ashok Gehlot has retaliated on this. Gehlot has now invited Union Home Minister Amit Shah to come to Rajasthan by sending a charter plane. Gehlot said in a statement released on social media on Monday – BJP leaders repeatedly invite Priyanka Gandhi regarding crime in Rajasthan. Priyanka ji does not hold any constitutional post.

We would like to send a charter plane for Home Minister Amit Shah and request him to come to Rajasthan. Come here and get information about the innovations made in relation to law and order in the state and the strict action taken against crime. So that the confusion being spread by BJP can be cleared.

Amit Shah’s home state Gujarat has more crime than Rajasthan
Gehlot said- According to the NCRB data, despite the lockdown in 2020, there was an increase of 28.03% in crimes across the country as compared to last year. There was a decrease of 14.46% in Rajasthan. According to the data, there has been a decrease in all types of crimes including dacoity, robbery, kidnapping, rape, rioting, nabbing, theft in the state in 2020. During this period, in Amit Shah’s home state Gujarat, there was an increase of 62.29% in crime. In the year 2021 also, there has been a decrease of 4.77% in crimes in Rajasthan as compared to 2019.

Compulsory FIR policy implemented
Gehlot said- Our government showed courage to make FIR registration mandatory. While implementing the mandatory FIR registration policy, we knew that the crime figures would increase. Opposition, media will raise questions on this, but we implemented this policy to get justice for every victim. Earlier, the victims of the POCSO Act used to be heartbroken for fear of not taking action. Now their faith in the government has increased, they are registering an FIR. Police is taking every FIR till the end. Criminals are getting punished. Before the mandatory FIR registration policy was implemented, 33.4% of FIRs of women crimes were registered through Istgas on the orders of the courts. After this policy, this number has come down to only 16%.

Time for investigation of women atrocities reduced from 279 to 79 days
Gehlot said – investigation of women atrocities used to take place in 274 days in 2017-18 during the BJP government. Now 79 days are left. Additional SPs have been appointed in every district for crimes against women. Legal officers have been appointed so that no criminal can escape from the court. All these steps have brought relief to the victims. Fear prevails among criminals. I wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, urging that the mandatory FIR registration policy should be implemented in the entire country, so that the real figures of all the states can be revealed. Sad that it hasn’t happened yet.

Law and order condition in Rajasthan is better than in BJP ruled states
The Chief Minister said that despite the mandatory FIR registration, the reduction in crimes shows that the law and order situation in the state is better than the BJP ruled states. In 3 years of our government, 620 cases of POCSO Act have been sentenced. Of these, 7 have been sentenced to death, 137 to life imprisonment. We don’t do politics on crime like BJP. By giving harsh punishment to the criminals, they bring them to their end.
