In the Sunni Badi Masjid of Madanpura on Thursday morning, there was morning azaan without loudspeakers. On behalf of the mosques that agreed to this decision, it has been said that no announcement will be made from the loudspeakers installed on the mosques from 10 pm to 6 am. During the day also, azaan will be done at the decibel fixed by the police.

At the same time, the state’s Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that the atmosphere is hot in the state right now and no one should utter words like ‘ultimatum’.

Ajit Pawar said- Law is the same for everyone, everyone has to follow the law. The Home Department has directed the police that strict action should be taken against those creating tension in the state. He appealed to the people to help the government and police in maintaining peace and order so that there is no tension in the state.

Mumbai gets approval for 24 temples and 950 mosques
Mumbai Police said on Wednesday that only 24 out of 2,400 temples in the city have got permission to use loudspeakers, while 950 of the total 1,140 mosques have been approved by the authorities. According to the data available with the Mumbai Police, only one per cent temples in the metropolis have taken permission to use loudspeakers in their premises, a police official said.

Case registered against MNS leader
Police on Wednesday arrested MNS leaders Sandeep Deshpande and Santosh Deshpande in connection with the injury of a woman police constable during a crackdown on party workers outside the residence of Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray in Shivaji Park area amid a loudspeaker controversy. A case has been registered against Dhuri. Apart from this, an FIR has also been lodged against the person who played loudspeaker during Azaan.

Deshpande, Dhuri and two others have been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 308 (attempt to murder), 353 (use of criminal force to prevent public servant from discharging his duty), 279 (unprotected), the official said. An FIR was registered at Shivaji Park police station in central Mumbai under section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) by driving a vehicle.
