Political uproar over Sidhu’s Pak love: After BJP, SAD and AAP opened front; Navjot’s statement is a threat to India’s security

There has been a political ruckus in Punjab after Navjot Sidhu called Pakistan PM Imran Khan his elder brother. After BJP, now Akali Dal and AAP have also opened a front against Sidhu. Former Union Minister Harsimrat Badal said that Sidhu’s statement is an insult to the Indian Army. He termed Sidhu’s statement as a threat to the peace and communal harmony of Punjab.

AAP Punjab’s co-in-charge Raghav Chadha called it a matter of concern. Sidhu is calling this controversy to make a mess of things. Sidhu, who returned from Kartarpur Sahib on Saturday, spoke to reporters at Dera Baba Nanak. On the controversial statement, Sidhu said that he does not want to say anything on this.

Congress MP Manish Tewari said that Imran Khan may be someone’s elder brother, but for India he is a puppet of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Army nexus, which is sending arms and drugs through drones to Punjab. Apart from this, he is sending terrorists to the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir every day. He asked Sidhu if we forgot the martyrdom of our soldiers in Poonch so soon.

The BJP has launched a scathing attack on Sidhu. Earlier BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that this is a well-planned conspiracy of the Congress. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said that Sidhu’s statement is clear why Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi chose Sidhu over former army captain (Amarinder Singh). Punjab BJP leader Harjit Grewal even said that there is only Sidhu’s government in Punjab and Pakistan. He also raised questions about the warmth of Sidhu and Pak’s relationship.
