In Punjab, there has been a political uproar over the issue of providing free electricity to every household. Congress has surrounded the AAP government of CM Bhagwant Mann on this issue. He is making a mockery of AAP’s change when Charanjit Channi was CM and comparing the current rate of electricity. On the other hand, AAP MLA Dr. Charanjit Singh, who defeated CM Charanjit Channi in Chamkaur Sahib, claimed that people would get free electricity from April itself.

Every month a house will get 300 units i.e. 600 units of electricity free in 2 months. There will be no discrimination against anyone in this. He said that very soon the cabinet will sit and this decision will be taken. The budget of 3 months has been passed and soon the final budget will also come.

He claims that while Channi was the CM, the electricity rates in Punjab were Rs 1.19 till the first 100 units, Rs 4.01 from 101 to 300 units and Rs 5.76 above 301. Which has now increased to Rs 3.49 per 100 units in AAP’s government, Rs 5.84 from 101 to 300 and Rs 7.30 per unit over 301. Sushil Rinku, former Congress MLA from Jalandhar, commented that the change is clearly visible. This time people voted for Aam Aadmi Party only after talking about change in Punjab elections.

BJP said – Kejriwal should fulfill the first promise
BJP has also started siege of AAP. He is making the video of Arvind Kejriwal’s election campaign viral. In which Kejriwal says that earlier parties do not fulfill promises for 5-5 years. If his government is formed, the first decision will be to provide electricity free of cost. The BJP alleges that instead of fulfilling this promise, people’s attention is being diverted by raising the issue of rights on Chandigarh.
