When she went to Nani’s village, she ran to catch the hyena
Ajay Bose, who wrote a book on Mayawati under the name ‘Behenji’, writes, “Once upon a time Mayawati went to her maternal grandmother Simrauli. A small river named Kali river flows near the village. When she was standing near the same river, a hyena was there. Mayawati asked her maternal grandfather, ‘What is this Nana?’ At that time Nana told that it is a hyena, stay away from it or else it will eat it.

Mayawati said to Nana, how will it eat me, I will eat it before it eats me. Saying this Maya ran after that hyena. Some people were working in the fields ahead. He stops Mayawati from going after the hyena and Maya is handed over to her parents.

Story 2: Saved the life of a woman and a child in Indrapuri area
In the book ‘My Life of Struggle and the Path of the Bahujan Movement’, Mayawati narrates an incident near her home in Indrapuri. Mayawati says, “Ghanshyam Singh Birla used to live in our neighborhood. Even after 10 years, his wife did not have any child. The women around did not sit with Ghanshyam’s wife as she was suffering from some disease due to orthodox thinking. “

Mayawati further explains, once Ghanshyam’s wife became pregnant. Ghanshyam was not at home on the day the child was to be born and I was at home by chance. She was troubled by labor pains. None of the women around went to him. When I got up to go there, my mother stopped and said, ‘You are not even married yet, if you go there, you will also get his illness.’ I did not listen to him and reached Ghanshyam’s wife.

Ghanshyam told the doctor- if Maya had not been there, my wife and child would not have been alive.
Maya called an auto and took the woman to Kapoor Hospital in Karolbagh area in Delhi after sitting in it. Shortly after, the woman gave birth to a son. Here, Ghanshyam also ran away and reached the hospital. When the doctor extended the child to stop him, he said, “Give it to Mayawati first. If she had not, my wife and child would not have been alive today.”

Story 3: Mayawati wrote a story related to the disease itself
When Mayawati was studying in the fifth class, her fourth number brother Subhash was born. Two days after birth, the child developed pneumonia. At that time Prabhudas had gone to Ghaziabad not at home but for family work. Mother was not in a position to even get out of bed. Being a government employee, the family got the facility of a government dispensary. But she was 6 km away in New Rajendra Nagar. So it was difficult to go there.

10 year old Maya walked 7 KM with a 2 day old baby
Mayawati got up. Picked up father’s dispensary card. Filled a bottle of water and picked up the child and left. On the way, whenever the child cried, Maya used to put a few drops of water in his mouth. She got tired because of the long road. Sometimes the child is directed towards the right shoulder and sometimes towards the left shoulder. She finally reached the hospital, drenched in sweat. The doctors were surprised when they saw it. The child’s treatment began. The injections were given and after three hours his condition improved.

After this, Mayawati picked up the child again and left for home on foot. When I reached home, it was nine thirty in the night. Mayawati’s brother Subhash died on 9 July 2016 at the age of 45.
