Policeman dies 39 days after red road accident

The bus service was resumed in the city on 1 July after a long gap due to Corona. And on the first day the townspeople witnessed a tragic accident. A policeman named Vivekananda Dab was killed in a minibus accident on Red Road. 12 passengers aboard the bus were also injured in the incident. 39 days after the incident, the police filed a charge sheet in the Banshal court. The finger of blame in the chargesheet is actually on the driver. It was told that there was no mechanical fault in the bus, the accident happened due to reckless speed.

On July 1, a minibus going from Metiyaburuj to Howrah station lost control on the Red Road. The bus collided with the wall of Fort William. The policeman riding the bike went under the bus. After the accident, the army personnel rushed to the rescue. Local people also help. The accident was so severe that even the front seats inside the minibus were twisted. Bus glasses are broken. At least 12 passengers on the bus were injured.

The policeman who was sitting under the bus for about forty-five minutes could not be saved. Because the crane was not found in time to lift the minibus. If he had been found, perhaps it would have been possible to save him. It was not possible to get him out from under the bus. In doing so, there was a danger of bursting hands and feet. So there was no way but to wait till the crane arrived. That’s why it’s getting late. When he was finally rescued, he was taken to the trauma care unit of SSKM by a Calcutta police ambulance. But as soon as he was taken there the doctors declared him brought dead. Sepoy Vivekananda in the Reserve Police of Calcutta Police was a resident of West Midnapore. He lived in the Calcutta Police Training School. After that Fatal Squad Traffic Police of Kolkata Police started investigation into the incident.
