The family members of two civilians killed in an encounter in Srinagar’s Hyderpora, who were staging a sit-in at the press enclave here, were forcibly removed by the police and some of them were taken into custody, officials said on Thursday.

The protesting families were on dharna since Wednesday morning and after a day-long protest held a candle-lit protest. Fighting the bitter cold, they stayed at the press enclave and demanded that the bodies of their families be returned to them. However, the police forcibly removed the protesters around midnight, officials said.
