A house in village Rampur under Kasba Khanna of Ludhiana district of Punjab was a printing press of terrorists, in which a special team of police raided. A printing press, Referendum 2020 and Khalistan related material have been recovered in the raid. This house belongs to a youth named Gurvinder Singh, who along with two other people was working to carry out terrorist activities in the state. This house was being used as a printing press for terrorists. The police have also arrested Jagwinder Singh and Sukhdev Singh, residents of Morinda, Ropar, along with him.

Along with them, the police have also registered a case against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, Harpreet Singh, resident of Bikramjit Singh, Gursahai Makhu, resident of Bikramjit Singh and Jagjit Singh Mangat of Khanna. The police had raided this house in Rampur on Friday morning. Teams of Special Operation Group and Counter Intelligence had also checked in the presence of the magistrate here. In the presence of the duty magistrate, the police have recovered more than 2.84 lakh pamphlets in favor of Referendum 2020 and Khalistan. Police also recovered a Canon printer, spray pump and spray bottles with separatist paintings on the walls, a laptop, three mobile phones and a Honda City car.

Efforts to connect youth with farmers’ movement

Gurvinder also made pictures under bridges and on signboards at various places from Khanna to Singhu Border Delhi to promote the activities of Sikh Referendum 2020 (in English and Punjabi) so that more and more people can join him. On the night of 15 August, he wrote Pro Sikh Referendum 2020 at various places with paint and also raised anti-India slogans. Not only this, on the instructions of Pannu, Gurvinder put up Khalistani flags in the government school premises of his village Rampur in Khanna.

The accused has so far registered around 20-25 people to vote for the promotion of Sikh Referendum 2020 besides distributing pamphlets to various groups in the vicinity of Doraha, Ludhiana and providing money at the behest of Pannu . The accused had obtained financial assistance from Pannu through human carrier, hawala and MTSS channels for promoting separatist activities.

Gurvinder was associated with terrorist organization through YouTube channel

Gurvinder Singh was radicalized through a YouTube channel run by JS Dhaliwal and Dhaliwal introduced him to Gurpatwant Pannu. He was now working with a separatist module of the ‘outlawed organisation’, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). SFJ was banned in July 2019 by the Government of India under the UA(P) Act for promoting separatism and violent extremism in Punjab as well as under the Sikh Referendum 2020.

Their activities were aimed at creating division among the communities and disturbing the peace and communal harmony in the state of Punjab. Police have registered an FIR at SSOC police station in SAS Nagar under sections 124A, 153A, 153B and 120B and sections 17, 18, 20, 40 of the UA(P) Act.
