New Delhi: We all must have heard several stories of how students attempt to bribe evaluators by tucking currencies inside answer sheets. Such kind of attempts by students to pass the exam is quite a common tale in India.
Recently, Indian police officer Arun Bothra took X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo, that he got from an evaluator, showing students tucking INR 100, INR 200, and INR 500 notes in their answer sheets.
He wrote, “Pic sent by a teacher. These notes were kept inside answer sheets of a board exam by students with a request to give them passing marks. Tells a lot about our students, teachers, and the entire educational system”
The post went viral and sparked a debate among X users, with some authors sharing similar experiences while others described the situation as “unfortunate”.
One user wrote, “How funny. But kudos to the teachers for not getting carried away. Our nation is great because we have more such souls.”
A teacher said that This had happened to him at least thrice during his paper correction days! To colleagues too even 20 years ago. The money was usually accompanied by a sad story narration instead of answers to exam questions.
A third wrote So if this was a picture taken by one random honest teacher just imagine how many of them would actually be receiving money and how many might give passing marks to failed students.”
