PM’s visit to Gujarat tomorrow: Modi to inaugurate several development projects worth Rs 3,050 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on June 10 and inaugurate the Madhuban Dam based Astole Regional Water Supply Project constructed at a cost of about Rs 586 crore. This project will ensure tap water to 4.50 lakh people living in tribal villages of Valsad district.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel briefed about the project on Thursday and said, “It was a challenging task to complete the Astole project in Kaprada and Dharampur talukas of Valsad district.”

“It is also a technological marvel from engineering point of view. Through this project we will ensure availability of water in hilly areas by carrying water up to the height of about 200 storey building (1,875 ft).” In 2018, the state government launched the Astole project at a cost of Rs 586.16 crore with an aim to ensure the supply of potable water to the people living in hilly areas.

What is on PM Modi’s agenda?

The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several development initiatives during the ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’ in Navsari at around 10:15 am. He will inaugurate AM Naik Healthcare Complex and Nirali Multi Specialty Hospital in Navsari at around 12:15 pm. Thereafter, at around 3:45 pm, he will inaugurate the headquarters of the Indian National Center for Space Enhancement and Authorization (IN-SPACe) at Bopal, Ahmedabad.

Giving information, PMO India said that the Prime Minister will participate in a program named ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’. During the program, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a development initiative of about Rs 3050 crore in Khudvel, a tribal area of ​​Navsari. This includes inauguration of 7 projects, foundation stone of 12 projects and Bhoomi Pujan of 14 projects. These projects will help in improving water supply in the region as well as boost connectivity and enhance the ease of living.

The Prime Minister will perform Bhoomi Pujan for 13 water supply projects worth Rs 961 crore for the residents of Tapi, Navsari and Surat districts. He will also perform Bhoomi Pujan of a medical college in Navsari district to be built at a cost of about Rs 542 crore, which will help in providing affordable and quality medical facilities to the people of the area.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Madhuban Dam based Astole Regional Water Supply Project constructed at a cost of about Rs 586 crore. This water supply is a marvel of engineering prowess. Also, the Prime Minister will inaugurate ‘Nal Se Jal’ projects worth Rs 163 crore. These projects will provide safe and adequate drinking water to the residents of Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi districts.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Veerpur Vyara substation constructed at a cost of over Rs 85 crore to provide electricity to the residents of Tapi district. A sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 14 MLD at a cost of Rs 20 crore will also be inaugurated in Vapi town of Valsad district to facilitate waste water treatment. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the government quarters built in Navsari at a cost of over Rs 21 crore. He will also inaugurate the roads constructed from Pipaladevi-Juner-Chichvihir-Peepaldahar and school buildings at Dang constructed at a cost of Rs.12 crore each.

To provide clean drinking water to the residents of Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi districts, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of 8 water supply projects worth Rs 549 crore. The foundation stone of a wide road connecting Khergam and Pipalkhed to be built at a cost of Rs 33 crore in Navsari district will also be laid. Another four-lane road will be constructed between Navsari and Bardoli via Supa at a cost of about Rs.27 crore. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of Zilla Panchayat Bhawan at Dang and providing and repairing roller crash barriers at a cost of about Rs 28 crore and Rs 10 crore.

At AM Naik Healthcare Complex, the Prime Minister will inaugurate AM Naik Healthcare Complex and Nirali Multi Specialty Hospital in Navsari. He will also attend a public function at the Health Services Complex, where he will virtually inaugurate the Kharel Education Complex. After this, he will address on this occasion.

At the IN-SPACe headquarters, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the headquarters of the Indian National Center for Space Promotion and Authorization (IN-SPACe) in Bopal, Ahmedabad. The program will also see exchange of MoUs between IN-SPACe and private sector companies working in the field of space-based applications and services. Promoting and enabling private entities in the space sector will give a big boost to the space sector and open up new avenues of opportunity for the talented youth of India.

The establishment of IN-SPACe was announced in June 2020. It is an autonomous and single window nodal agency in the Department of Space for the promotion, promotion and regulation of space activities of both public and private entities. It also facilitates the use of ISRO facilities by private entities.
