As PM Narendra Modi dedicated projects, Chhattisgarh Deputy CM and Congress leader TS Singh Deo said, “If we worked and demanded, then as a partner, the hands of the Centre were never tight.” The BJP and Congress are chief rivals in poll-bound Chhattisgarh

Political circles are abuzz after Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader TS Singh Deo praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on stage in Raipur on Thursday, saying that he “never felt that the PM discriminated against the state”.

Deo was present on the stage while Modi dedicated important rail projects and other initiatives to the poll-bound state. “I wouldn’t mind saying this that in my experience, I did not feel discriminated against. If we worked and demanded, then as a partner, the hands of the Central Government were never tight. I believe that in the times to come, this country, this state, together with its federal structure, we will continue to move forward,” Deo said in his speech.

Before this, the PM and Deo could be seen all smiles as they spoke to each other on the stage and exchanged pleasantries. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are chief rivals in poll-bound Chhattisgarh.

PM Modi also returned the compliment in his speech. “In development, every state and every area is getting equal priority. As the deputy CM just said, we must together take the country forward,” the PM said.

Before this, Deo addressed Modi as the “respected Prime Minister of the country” and welcomed him to the state. “I am fortunate that on the soil of Chhattisgarh, I got the opportunity to welcome the PM. Today, you have come to give…you have been giving a lot of things and I believe that we will continue to meet in the future also,” Deo said in the Prime Minister’s presence.

Deo also said that the PM’s presence had given momentum to the work of treatment of citizens suffering from sickle cell disease and for their better identification and better. “Be it the health sector, be it the field of education, whether it is an area of industrialization, no matter the field of employment, with joint participation in all areas, we will continue to do development,” Deo said.
