According to the list of leaders of 22 countries, PM Modi ranks highest in approval ratings, followed by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at 68 per cent.

According to the list of leaders of 22 countries, PM Modi ranks highest in approval rating, followed by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at 68 per cent, Swiss President Alain Berset at 62 per cent, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at 58 per cent. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is at 52 percent and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at 50 percent.

US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau both had approval ratings of 40 per cent, while Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar was at 37 per cent, Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Crew at 34 per cent, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at 34 per cent, Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz each at 36 percent, and Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Christerson at 31 percent.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehmer scored 30 percent, French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte scored 29 percent, and Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala scored 27 percent.

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yul, with a 23 percent rating, ranked second-lowest on the list, and Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storr shared the least approved leader spot with 21 percent each. .

PM Modi had topped the list last year with an approval rating of 72 per cent in its report in February 2022. His formal takeover of the chairmanship of the influential G20 group of countries at the G20 summit in Bali during his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the conflict in Ukraine last year also played a part in PM Modi’s high approval rating.

The latest approval ratings are based on data collected from January 26-31, 2023. According to the official website, the approval rating is based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with varying sample sizes.
