PM Modi took to X to praise Latha’s recent TV interview, where she predicted her political rival Owaisi will lose this time by a margin of 1,50,000 votes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thrown his weight behind Kompella Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency. The 49-year-old classical dancer and entrepreneur is set to take on Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi in his stronghold in the May 13 polls.

PM Modi took to X to praise Latha’s recent TV interview, where she predicted her political rival Owaisi will lose this time by a margin of 1,50,000 votes.

“Madhavi Latha Ji, your ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ episode is exceptional. You’ve made very solid points and also done so with logic and passion. My best wishes to you. I also urge everyone to watch the repeat telecast of this programme at 10 AM or 10 PM today. You all will find it very informative,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

Who Is Madhavi Latha?

Latha, the face of BJP’s campaign against triple talaq, is the first female candidate to be fielded by the saffron party in Hyderabad.

She is a trained classical dancer and a cultural activist. She is also chairman of Hyderabad’s Virinchi Hospital, founded by her husband Vishwanath. She is also a religious speaker and often speaks on Hindu causes.

BJP announced her candidature from Hyderabad in its first list of 195 candidates.

Madhavi Latha’s Interview

In a recent interview with India TV,  Latha hailed PM Modi’s transparent politics and called him the ‘MahaYogi’ of this age.

“I am fortunate that I can now meet Modiji after getting the ticket. Woh Is Yug Ke MahaYogi Hain. (He is a MahaYogi of this age). Without meeting me, or without knowing me, he selected me only on the basis of my (social) work… He felt that I could give a fight to Asad Ji (Owaisi) and he gave me the ticket. What more transparent politics can be like this,” she said.

She also predicted the AIMIM chief’s defeat in the upcoming polls and claimed Owaisi won the elections dishonestly.

Asaduddin Owaisi will lose this time by a margin of 1,50,000 votes, she claimed.

On being reminded that the Owaisi family has been winning from Hyderabad for the last 40 years, she said, “Yes, if we had bogus votes, we can continuously win for 4,000 years. But what to do? We do not have bogus votes. Owaisi has 6,20,000 vogus votes. If you type one EPIC (electoral Photo Identity Card) number on the EC website, you may find the same voter ID in two places. In the Charminar area alone, he has 1,60,000 bogus votes,” according to a report by India TV.

Asked if Owaisi had won dishonestly, Latha said “Yes, I will definitely say so. I am not afraid of saying this.”
