Corona vaccine will be administered to about 8 crore children in the age group of 15 to 18 years from January 3 in the country. Apart from this, ‘Precaution Dose’ will be given to all front line workers including health workers from January 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this in an address of 13 minutes 46 seconds on Saturday.

The PM said that citizens of 60+ age with co-morbidities will also be given the option of ‘Precaution Dose’ of the vaccine on the advice of their doctor. This will also be started from January 10. The Prime Minister started his address late in the evening at 9:46 pm and ended at around 10 am.

Along with this, PM Modi also said that soon the introduction of nasal vaccine and the world’s first DNA vaccine will also be started in the country. However, PM Modi once again appealed to the countrymen to follow all measures to prevent the corona epidemic. He said that it is necessary to adopt measures like wearing masks to defeat the epidemic.

Beware of negligence in New Year’s enthusiasm

After this, PM Modi assured the countrymen of the preparedness to deal with any wave of Corona. He said, at present there are 18 lakh isolation beds and 5 lakh oxygen supported beds in the country. Apart from this, there are 1 lakh 40 thousand ICU beds. 90 thousand beds are also for children. 3000 oxygen plants are also working. States are being helped to prepare buffer stock of medicines.

Vaccination is a great means of prevention
He said, the experience of fighting the corona epidemic so far shows that vaccination is being avoided. We have started working on it on a large scale here as well. The result of these preparations was that we started vaccination soon.

So far, the very difficult and unprecedented target of 141 crore vaccine doses has been accomplished. 61% of adults have had both doses. 90% of adults have had the first dose. We have successfully run the world’s largest vaccination campaign.

PM Modi said, today there is a feeling of pride when the news of 100% vaccination comes in remote villages of the country. Nasal vaccine and world’s first DNA vaccine will also start soon in our country. Our scientists have worked very hard. According to its position, India has taken decisions on the advice of Indian scientists and its results have also been received.
