Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said he has conveyed his views in favor of caste-based census to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Center has to take a decision on it.
Kumar said, “We spoke with PM Modi for 40-45 minutes. All the parties said that caste census should be done as it will benefit everyone. They listened very carefully to everyone’s opinion. Now they have to take the decision. Is.”
A delegation of political parties from Bihar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in support of their demand for caste-based reservation.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was also included in the delegation led by the Chief Minister.
The leaders said the caste census would help in better formulation and targeting of development plans and initiatives.
