PM Modi to address the nation from Red Fort on the occasion of Parkash Parv of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on April 21 from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 400th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Culture Ministry said on Monday.

Apart from this, PM Modi will also release a commemorative coin and a postage stamp.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 400th Prakash Parv of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur on April 21 at Red Fort. The Prime Minister will also release a postage stamp and a coin on the occasion,” Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said in a press release. the seminar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also attend the function to be held on April 20-21.

Amit Shah will start the program on April 20. This will include light and sound performance as well as Shabad Kirtan led by the youth.

The Ministry of Culture will organize the event in partnership with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

According to the statement, Chief Ministers of several states as well as other notable personalities from the subcontinent and abroad will participate in the celebration.

Shabad Kirtan will be performed by 400 ragis on this occasion.

A ragi is a musician who recites hymns (shabads) in various ragas as per the instructions of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

The event commemorates the 400th Prakash Parv (date of birth) of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In 1621, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur was born in Amritsar. He was killed in Delhi in 1675 by the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.

The famous Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, located near the Red Fort, was built on the spot where Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed.
