PM Modi inaugurates projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in Uttarakhand, says ‘previous government used to pay only in its treasury’

Prime minister Narendra Modi The BJP launched its election campaign in Uttarakhand on Saturday, inaugurating or laying foundations of projects worth over Rs 18,000 crore and adding “mahayagyas” across the country to compensate for the loss of 10 years of the previous government.

“The infrastructure projects inaugurated and installed here today are part of this ‘Mahayagya’. We are working at a double-triple pace to make up for the time lost,” Modi said while addressing a rally at the Parade Ground.

He said that Uttarakhand is not only a center of faith for the country but also “an example of work and hardships”.

“Therefore, development of this state is a priority. Therefore, the Center has approved projects worth one lakh crore rupees for the state.

Reiterating what he had said in Kedarnath, the Prime Minister said that the projects will help make Uttarakhand this decade. He said that the reconstruction work carried out in Kedarnath by his government has brought a record more than 10 lakh devotees to the Himalaya temple in 2019.

Taking a jibe at the former UPA government and allegations of corruption, the PM said: “At the beginning of this century, Atal ji (Bihari Vajpayee; for Prime Minister) started a campaign to increase connectivity in India. But after 10 years such a government came in the country which wasted the precious time of the country… of Uttarakhand. Scams in the name of infrastructure continued for 10 years. We worked twice as hard to compensate for the loss caused to the country and are doing so even today.

He said the projects whose foundation stone was laid in Uttarakhand on Saturday cover almost all areas, including the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, which will reduce the travel time between the two cities in half, the country’s largest elevated wildlife corridor. corridor, kid-friendly city project and a new bridge next to Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. He said that the previous governments have done very little for the development of Uttarakhand whereas the BJP government at the Center has spent Rs 12,000 crore on the development of the state in the last seven and a half years.

“Development of Uttarakhand is the top priority of the double engine government. We have approved development projects worth over Rs 1 lakh crore for the state.” Spoken.
