PM Modi hails Murmu’s candidature for Presidential election, calls it ‘historic’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (July 3) lauded the candidature of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu and called it historic, reported ANI. The PM’s remarks came on the second day of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national executive meeting in Hyderabad, Telangana. According to ANI sources, the PM referred to Murmu’s humble beginnings and his life-long struggle, further asking the party cadre to emphasize his life’s struggle and simplicity among the people.

Modi also told the members of the BJP’s national executive that it is an honor for the country to become the country’s first tribal woman president if Murmu is elected in the presidential election to be held on July 18.
