New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday on the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
Soon after, PM Modi tweeted about his discussion with Putin.
Exchanged detailed and useful views on recent developments in Afghanistan with his friend President Putin. We also discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, including India-Russia cooperation against COVID-19. We agreed to continue close consultations on important issues.

On Monday, PM Modi spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the region and the world, stressing the need to maintain peace and security.
India launched a complex evacuation mission on August 16, 2021 by airlifting 40 Indians from Kabul to Delhi, a day after the Taliban captured the Afghan capital city.
India has so far evacuated over 800 people amid the deteriorating security situation in Kabul and the scuffle by various countries to save its citizens.
The Taliban warned on Monday that there would be “consequences” if the United States and its allies increase their presence in Afghanistan beyond next week. Meanwhile, chaos prevails at Kabul airport with thousands still desperate to flee.
