PM Modi covers retail, wholesale trade as MSMEs ‘historic’ move, says committed to empower traders – Times of India

New Delhi: After the announcement of revised guidelines for MSMEs by the Central Government retail and wholesale trade in the form of MSMEs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Saturday termed it as a “historic” move and said that the move will help in boosting the business of traders and also bring various benefits to them.
“Our government has taken a historic step of incorporating retail and wholesale trade MSME. This will help our crores of merchants to get easy finance, various other benefits and will also help in promoting their business. We are committed to empowering our traders,” PM Modi tweeted.

Union Minister of MSME and Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari On Friday, it announced revised guidelines for MSMEs with the inclusion of retail and wholesale trades as MSMEs.
In a tweet, he led by said PM Narendra ModiThe Center is committed to strengthen MSMEs and make them engines for economic growth.
Gadkari said the revised guidelines would benefit 2.5 crore retail and wholesale traders. He said that retail and wholesale trade was kept out of the purview of MSMEs, now under the revised guidelines, retail and wholesale trade will also get the benefit of priority sector lending under the RBI guidelines.
With the revised guidelines, retail and wholesale businesses will now be allowed to register on the enterprise registration portal.
