Political meaning of Ganga Expressway
This expressway will affect 76 assembly seats in 12 districts. Of these 76 seats, 55 are occupied by BJP, while 9 are with SP and 4 seats are with BSP. 3 are with Congress and 5 others.
- The BJP is on the back foot in western UP due to the farmers’ movement. By withdrawing all the three agricultural laws, the central government has definitely tried to rectify the political equation, but experts believe that even after this, more than 60 seats out of 136 seats in western UP will be affected.
- Along with cultivating western UP, BJP is also trying to reach Purvanchal from this highway. Since the arrival of Yogi, a network of roads is being laid in Purvanchal. In which there are Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Prayagraj Link Expressway and Ganga Expressway. Even though the rest of the work has not been completed, but if Yogi returns, there is a possibility that this work will be completed. In such a situation, BJP can get benefit.

According to the detailed project report (DPR) of the expressway, the expressway will start from Bijauli village in Meerut on the Meerut-Bulandshahr road (NH-334). Will terminate near Judapur Dandu village of Prayagraj on Prayagraj Bypass (NH-19). The journey from Delhi to Bihar can be completed in about 11 hours. For this, about 7386 hectares of land is required. So far 94 percent land has been purchased from 82,750 farmers.
