Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, an amount of Rs 2,000 will be deposited in the accounts of eligible farmers in the next installment. According to media reports, the amount of the ninth installment will be deposited in the accounts of farmers from August 1. Under this scheme, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs 6000 in a year to the eligible farmers of the country. Financial assistance is being given every year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
Under this scheme, the first installment is deposited for the period from 1st April to 31st July, the second installment from 1st August to 30th November and the third for the period from 1st December to 31st March. Financial assistance is provided to small and marginal farmer families having joint holding/ownership of up to 2 hectares.
According to the new rules of the scheme, only those farmers will get the benefit of the scheme, who will have the land documents in their name. Those who have a share in their ancestral land but do not have personal holding documents, they will no longer be able to take advantage of this scheme.
In order to bring more transparency in the scheme, the government has made it mandatory that the farmers who have made fresh registration under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will now have to mention the plot number of their land in the application form. The old beneficiaries of the scheme will be unaffected by this new rule. They will continue to get three installments of Rs 2,000 each under this scheme as they used to get earlier.
You can register for this scheme through the online process sitting at home. Apart from this, you can apply for this scheme by contacting the Panchayat Secretary or Patwari or the local Common Service Center (CSC).
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana became operational on December 1, 2018. It has 100 percent funding from the central government.
