Plea to upload reasoning documents for CBSE schools: Judge refuses to hear

New Delhi: Delhi High Court Justice C Harishankar on Monday moved a petition seeking an interim order directing all schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to publish the reasoning documents for the criteria prepared for evaluation of class 10 students. The petition was filed by ‘Justice for All’ through advocates Shikha Sharma Bagga and Khagesh B Jha.

The petitioner’s organization urged the court to issue a direction to bring transparency to the criteria framed for evaluation of class 10 students, and also that the students can access it and access the same through the board. The petition has been filed in an ongoing Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in which the court issued notice to the CBSE, the Center and the Delhi Court.

The PIL has sought a direction to amend the policy for tabulation of marks of class 10 board examination 2021 on the basis of internal assessment conducted by the school.

The petition states that the petitioner, while accepting the responsibility of being extra vigilant in the PIL, was “expecting that the government would consider illegality to the level of absurdity, where CBSE, instead of evaluating the students, would conduct the school in such a manner Where most of the disadvantaged groups of the society are in more adverse conditions and the policy not only discriminates the children socially and economically but the grievance mechanism is such that CBSE has left them at the mercy of the school.

It further states that there is neither any grievance redressal in case of any mistake in admission by the teacher and inadvertent typing error in teacher’s absence causing the student to pay a heavy cost in terms of his academic career. without any of his role.
