Played for so long, at least I deserved it: Distraught Tamim Iqbal slams Bangladesh Cricket Board

Tamim Iqbal, one of Bangladesh’s well-known cricketers, has a crisis of confidence in his own board. The cricketers are feeling neglected as they claim that they were not given a ‘chance’ to reveal their future plans as far as their T20 career is concerned. Iqbal last played T20 for Bangladesh in March 2020 and since then he has been good with the fans. His case is a classic example of what happens when the communication lines between players and cricket officials are broken. Now he wants to reach BCB (Bangladesh) Cricket board).

“No one gives me a chance to explain my plans for my T20Is. either you [media] say it or someone else tells it [regarding my T20’s future] And let it go like this cause I ain’t given a chance [by the board] To tell anything,” Tamim told reporters during a private function in Dhaka on Sunday.

“I play for so long that at least I deserve it, which is what I think or feel they should hear from me,” he said.

“But either you [media] To give some kind of impression or tell someone (the board) something else. And as they say something, I have nothing to say,” he said.

Meanwhile, BCB president Jalal Yunus had claimed that he had spoken to Tamim on the issue.

“Tamim Iqbal is one of the senior players on our side and he understands his position better than anyone else. You all know that we had a meeting with him in this regard. he told you [media] What specifically about our plan and what we have to say now,” Jalal told reporters at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in May.

“After completing six months, he will officially tell you about his decision and you will know about his plan through him and I can’t say anything about that.”

Bangladesh’s second most popular cricketer is one of the senior members of the team who represented the team in 2007 World cup. He has played 78 T20Is, scoring 1758 runs at an average of 24. His strike rate is 117.
