U Mumba played an all-rounder to beat Telugu Titans 48-38 in the 41st match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 at the Sheraton Grand in Whitefield on Saturday. The second match of the night was extremely one-sided with the Titans failing to match the inspired U Mumba.

Right corner Rinku took a high 5 (7 points) for U Mumba while raider Abhishek Singh impressed with a Super 10 (13 points). The only bright spot for Titans was their substitute left-hander Mohammad Shihas who took the High 5 (5 tackle points).

In the first half, U Mumba dominated the opening whistle with points from everyone on the mat. Fazal Atrachali and his men did not care about Rajneesh and Ankit Beniwal’s previous outings, attacking the Telugu raiders at the slightest opportunity.

At the other end, Abhishek Singh and Ajith Kumar continued their good form, finding raid points at will. U Mumba scored their first all out in the ninth minute to take a 7-point lead. Once again, having seven players on the mat didn’t help the Titans, who struggled against a razor-sharp defense.

Mumbai scored their second all-out with a gap of five minutes and ended the half with a 15-point lead (28-13).

Telugu Titans team tried their best to take on Mumbai in the opening minutes of the second half. Ruturaj Korvi and Mohammad Shihas produced super tackles, but U Mumba eventually made another all out in the 10th minute to take a huge 17-point lead.

Titans struggled to find any raid points despite best efforts from Galla Raju and Rakesh Gowda. But U Mumba lost their in-form raider Ajit Kumar with six minutes to spare due to a back injury as the Titans made a slow change in pace.

When Beniwal found both the Mumbai defenders on the mat, they were all out with four minutes remaining. Mohammad Shihas reached High 5 despite coming in as a substitute, but Abhishek Singh secured his Super 10 to win the match for Mumbai by a margin of 10 points.
