Photos: Google removes most important backup feature from Photos app – Times of India

Google reportedly made some changes to the backup feature photos Application. The change in feature is related to video backup in the app. AndroidCentral has reported that the search engine giant has removed the option to exclude videos when backing up over a cellular connection.
The company has not made any official announcement regarding this change. The feature previously allowed users to stop google photos Backing up videos over cellular internet connection.
This means that now there is no way for users to avoid video backup and consume a large portion of the daily data quota available as a part of the plan. Most connections today offer unlimited data, but there is a fixed daily data limit such as 1.5GB or 2GB, after which the speed drops.
Earlier, the Photos app offered a separate option for backing up photos and videos and backing up videos only if Wifi joined. Following the recent changes, a new feature has been added that allows users to set a daily backup limit for mobile networks, but not separately for videos and photos.
This feature is reportedly a system-side update and may reflect for everyone in the coming days. However, this change will certainly increase the cost of backing up photos and videos on Google Photos, especially when there is no Wi-Fi connectivity available.
