Cloudburst in Amirgarh of Banaskantha
In the last 24 hours, Amirgarh of Banaskantha has been flooded due to 8 inches of rain. Houses and shops have been submerged in the rain water. The NDRF team rescued 35 people trapped in the flood this morning and brought them to a safer place. Along with this, more than 15 animals have also died.
Two villages in the grip of flood in Tharad
There is still a flood situation in Tharad taluka. There was torrential rain here on Friday from morning to afternoon. The rain stopped in the night, but since this morning it is again raining intermittently. More than a dozen villages in the taluka are in the grip of floods. 25 NDRF personnel have reached Pavadasan and Duva villages. The villagers trapped in the flood are being evacuated.
More than 3000 villages in darkness
Thousands of hectares of land have been submerged in Banaskantha district. Due to filling of five feet of water in the fields, the fields have turned into ponds. The strong wind has also caused heavy damage. Thousands of trees and electric poles have fallen, including people’s houses, cattle sheds, cold storage sheds. Even now there is no electricity in more than 3000 villages.
