The reason for the extreme step was not immediately known

Rajkot: A 23-year-old doctoral research student of Saurashtra University allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Aji (2) dam in Rajkot city on Tuesday.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Aditya Prakash Rawal, a resident of Rajkriti Apartments in the city. The police found an identity card on the body, which revealed that he was a PhD student in the chemistry department of the university.
The reason for the extreme step was not immediately known. No suicide note has been found from him.
“Someone saw a dead body floating on the water and informed the fire department and a team pulled out the body. His bike was also found on the outskirts of Madhapar village from the bank of Aji Dam near Ishwariya temple.
Police said, “His parents are completely upset. He was the only son. We will talk to him in a few days.”
