Petrol prices announced today; Delhi paid Rs 105.41 per liter; Check Latest Fuel Rates

Petrol and diesel price today: Giving relief to the general public, there has been no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel today. There is no change in fuel prices in metro cities for the last 5 days. Petrol costs Rs 105.41 per liter in Delhi and a record Rs 120.51 per liter in Mumbai. Diesel prices also maintained the status quo at Rs 96.67 per liter in Delhi and Rs 104.77 per liter in Mumbai.

In other parts of the country, petrol was being sold at Rs 115.12 per liter and diesel at Rs 99.83 per liter in Kolkata on Sunday. In Chennai too, a liter of petrol was retailing at Rs 110.89 and diesel at Rs 100.94 per liter, according to a notification by state-owned oil marketing companies.

The price of petrol in Lucknow was Rs 105.25 per litre, while diesel was being sold at Rs 96.83 per litre. The price of petrol in Bengaluru was Rs 111.09 per liter and that of diesel was Rs 94.79 per litre. Petrol in Gandhinagar was Rs 105.29 per liter and diesel Rs 99.64 per litre.

Union Minister Smriti Irani was inadvertently caught on a Delhi-Guwahati flight yesterday when asked about the hike in fuel prices. His interrogator was Netta D’Souza, the acting chief of the Congress women’s wing. D’Souza later tweeted the video in which the minister is also seen recording the encounter on his cell phone.

The caption of his tweet, where the minister was also tagged, read, “Encountered Modi minister @smritiirani ji on his way to Guwahati. When asked about the unbearably rising prices of LPG, he blamed vaccines, rations and even the poor! Watch the video excerpts to see how he reacted to the miseries of common people!”

Aviation turbine fuel or jet fuel, the prices of which are revised on the 1st and 16th of every month, on Friday increased by two per cent to Rs 1,12,924.83 per kl from Rs 2,258.54 per kl in Delhi after its price hike.

Fuel prices in India have been rising since March 22, when the results of five assembly elections were announced after a gap of four months.

Oil prices tumbled in early Asian trading, after world consumers announced plans to release crude from strategic stocks and a second consecutive weekly decline as Chinese lockdowns continued.

By 2202 GMT, Brent crude was down 38 cents to $102.40 a barrel, while US crude was down 16 cents to $98.18. Brent fell 1.5 per cent last week while US West Texas Intermediate dropped 1 per cent. For several weeks, the benchmarks have been at their most volatile since June 2020.
