Petrol price above Rs 100/litre in 11 states, highest ever in India

Petrol price in Srinagar region in Jammu and Kashmir is Rs 102.11 per liter, while in Ladakh the price of petrol is Rs 104.56 per litre. Diesel price in Ladakh is Rs 95.79 per litre. In Odisha’s Bargarh district, the price of petrol is Rs 100.82 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 98.05 per litre.

The price of fuel increases or decreases on several factors and is calculated taking into account the taxes that the state and central governments levy on fuel. Then of course there are additional charges such as freight charges, duty for excise duty, value to be charged from dealers, dealers’ commission as well as Value Added Tax (VAT).
