Petrol and diesel price update on March 11: Petrol and diesel prices, which are usually updated every day at 6 am, have not reduced by a single digit since May 21 last year, when the government reduced duty on the primary automotive fuel in the country. Petrol cost Rs 96.72 per liter in Delhi on Saturday, while it was Rs 106.31 per liter in Mumbai. The per liter price of petrol in Chennai has also remained stable at Rs 102.63. Fuel cost in Kolkata is Rs 106.03. Petrol price remained above Rs 100 in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Bhopal as well.
Diesel price was comparatively lower in each of these cities. Diesel price in Delhi stood at Rs.89.62. In Mumbai, the price was higher, with a liter of fuel costing Rs 94.27. The same quantity of diesel closed at Rs 94.24 in Chennai. In Kolkata, the fuel sold at Rs 92.76 per litre.
