Petrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol price remained unchanged for the 8th day in a row on Thursday, 14th April, while diesel price remained the same today. Petrol costs Rs 105.41 per liter in Delhi and a record Rs 120.51 per liter in Mumbai. Diesel prices also maintained the status quo at Rs 96.67 per liter in Delhi and Rs 104.77 per liter in Mumbai.

In other parts of the country, petrol was being sold at Rs 115.12 per liter and diesel at Rs 99.83 per liter in Kolkata on Sunday. In Chennai too, a liter of petrol was retailing at Rs 110.89 and diesel at Rs 100.94 per liter, according to a notification by state-owned oil marketing companies.

The price of petrol in Lucknow was Rs 105.25 per litre, while diesel was being sold at Rs 96.83 per litre. The price of petrol in Bengaluru was Rs 111.09 per liter and that of diesel was Rs 94.79 per litre. Petrol in Gandhinagar was Rs 105.29 per liter and diesel Rs 99.64 per litre.

Meanwhile, due to rising fuel prices, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stressed that it has become imperative to explore the use of alternative sources of fuel, especially methanol. He also stressed on the need to promote waterways to facilitate trade and commerce as it is the cheapest mode of communication.

Gadkari, during his virtual address on the concluding day of the two-day Waterways Summit-2022, said, “With the rise in the prices of petrol and diesel, it has become important to find out more easily available and cheaper fuels and claimed that methanol is very cheap. ” There is technology available to convert more diesel engines into engines that can be powered by it.

“It is important to promote the use of alternative fuels and methanol can be used more… New technology in fuels is important,” he added and added that Assam, which currently produces 100 tonnes of methanol per day And will increase it to 500 tonnes. Every day, well prepared to profit from change.

“We can develop marine engines that run on methanol and convert diesel ones… Swedish company has technology to convert diesel engines to methanol engines…” This (use of methanol) costs fuel will reduce it by 50%.
