Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru on August 23 – Times of India

Fuel prices in India held steady again on August 23 according to the latest price notification issued by Oil Marketing Companies. Petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged for over two months now.
In Delhi, petrol price today stands at Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel price costs Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per litre, while the diesel price in Mumbai stands at Rs 94.27 per litre.

According to reports, Oil Marketing Companies are incurring a loss of Rs 13.08 per litre on petrol and Rs 24.09 per litre on diesel. Public sector OMCs, including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) set the fuel prices regularly in line with foreign exchange rates and international benchmark prices. Retail petrol and diesel prices differ from state to state because of local taxes like VAT or freight charges.
Crude oil price
On Tuesday, crude oil prices were high. Brent crude futures were up by 32 cents to trade at $96.80 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up by 37 cents to trade at $90.73.
