Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad on August 22 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices were left untouched by Oil Marketing Companies on August 22. The recent Value-Added Tax (VAT) cut was announced by the Maharashtra government on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre respectively last month. Fuel prices in the rest of the cities remained unchanged since Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 a litre and on diesel by Rs 6 a litre.
In Delhi, petrol price today is Rs 96.72 per litre, while the diesel price is Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price in Mumbai is Rs 97.28 per litre.

Oil Marketing Companies, such as Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) revise the petrol and diesel prices regularly in line with foreign exchange rates and international benchmark prices. Retail petrol and diesel prices differ from state to state because of local taxes like VAT or freight charges.
Crude oil price
On Monday morning, crude oil prices slipped on after getting high for the last three sessions. Brent crude futures were down $1.17 to trade at $95.55 a barrel, while WTI Crude was at $89.29 a barrel, falling $1.15, according to Reuters.
