'People who don't like me...': Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut on meeting with BJP leader

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that people are spreading rumors ahead of Maharashtra Assembly session.

Mumbai:

Clarifying on his alleged meeting with BJP leader Ashish Shelar, senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday said those who do not like him are spreading rumors ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly session.

“I have met Ashish at social functions. Maharashtra politics is not like that of India and Pakistan. Despite political differences, we are cordial. People who don’t like me are spreading rumors ahead of tomorrow’s assembly session,” said Mr. Raut.

He said such rumors do not affect politics or destabilize the government.

“Such rumors will not affect the Maharashtra government but will bring together leaders of all the three parties (Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress),” he said.

Later he also took to Twitter and shared a couplet against the ”backdrop of uncertainty over the fate of Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra” that read, “Humari afvaao ke dhuuhe vahi se udate hai, jaha hamare naam se aag lag jati hai “.

He said the opposition BJP should allow the two-day monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly to function smoothly if it is in the interest of the people of the state.
