With the pandemic halting the shooting of television shows and movies, last year many of our favorite shows made a comeback on television. Some shows have even expanded their storyline and come up with later scenes as the ongoing crisis has changed the shooting and viewing patterns. Many popular shows aired their sequels on television, and here we have compiled a list of some of the shows that have made a comeback or are currently shooting for their upcoming sequels.
Balika Vadhu 2
The promo of the new season of Balika Vadhu was recently released by the channel on its Instagram account. Aapki Nazarne Ne Samjhauta fame Shreya Patel will play the role of Anandi and Bal Veer fame Vansh Sayani will play Jagiya. These roles were earlier played by Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee. Like the previous season, this season too will tackle the evils of child marriage in our society.
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi made Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and Dr. Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) a hit pairing among fans. And much to the relief of fans, Shaheer and Erica are once again reprising their roles for the third season of the show. This season will focus on the changes and differences in their relationship. The shooting of the episode has started in Siliguri.
Sasural Simar Ka 2
Sasural Simar Ka, which was one of the longest running shows since its inception in 2011, returned earlier this year with its second season in April. Dipika Kakar Ibrahim and Jayati Bhatia who played Simar and Mataji respectively in the first season reprized their roles in the second season. The season revolves around Chhoti Simar (Radhika Muthukumar) and her sister Reema (Tanya Sharma), and the Oswal brothers, Aarav (Avinash Mukherjee) and Vivaan (Karan Sharma).
Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2
The airing of the sequel of Saath Nibhana Saathiya started in October last year. Devoleena Bhattacharjee (Gopi Bahu) and Roopal Patel (Kokilaben) retained their characters, adding new faces to the show. The show’s comeback is due to the rap ‘Rasod Mein Kaun Tha’ by composer and social media star Yash Raj Mukhate. The video of Gopi Bahu, Rashi and Kokilaben went viral in no time, bringing the serial and its character into limelight once again.

Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya first aired on Star Plus in 2009. In March this year, it came back with its second season, and with it, the first season’s actors Pooja Gaur (Pratigya), Arhaan Behl (Krishna), and Anupam Shyam (Thakur Sajjan Singh) reprized their roles. The second season takes place 9 years after the events of the first season and sees Pratigya as an established lawyer.
