Patna : Process of admission of students in undergraduate courses in various colleges Patna University (PU) in the current academic session (2021-22) will start with the release of the overall merit list of eligible applicants on Saturday. More than 21,000 boys and girls have applied for admission.
The overall merit list of applicants will be released jointly by PU Vice-Chancellor Girish Kumar Choudhary and Pro-VC Ajay Kumar Singh at 4 pm on Saturday. After that an applicant can check his/her rank in the merit list with the help of ID number and password on PU website.
PU Students Welfare Dean Anil Kumar said that from September 5 to 12, students will indicate their choice of college and subject in order of preference. Each applicant has to indicate at least 20 choices of subjects and institutions. If there is any correction in the choice of subject or college, then it can be done till September 12.
Kumar said the allotment of Honors subject and institute to the applicants would be announced on PU website on September 13. Students can download their provisional admission slip after paying the admission fee online. They will then have to report at the designated counseling centers along with the provisional admission slip and get their original documents verified between September 14 and 18. If the applicant does not report at the counseling centre, he/she will forfeit his/her claim of admission. time given or if his documents are not found to be authentic.

All PU colleges have 3,500 seats in arts, science and commerce streams, except Patna Women’s College, which admits students on its own. Arts stream has 1,650 seats (600 in Patna College and BN College and 450 in Magadh Mahila College), while commerce stream has a total of 650 seats (400 in Vanijya Mahavidyalaya and 250 in Magadh Mahila College under self-financing scheme). . Apart from this, there are 1,206 seats in the Faculty of Science, including 600 in Patna Science College, 350 in BN College and 256 in Magadh Mahila College.
