Patna : District Magistrate (DM) of Patna Chandrashekhar Singh The directives were issued on Saturday for the much-awaited vaccination of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years as well as measures to contain the spread of Kovid-19 infection.
During the meeting with the officials, the District Magistrate said that apart from slot booking, on-spot registration facility is also available for immunization of adolescent girls. covaxin Shots will be available.
The DM constituted 87 teams, out of which 53 would be assigned to rural schools and 20 to urban schools.
Additionally, 14 teams will be deputed in government and private medical colleges as well as 24-hour immunization centres.
There are 720 high schools in Patna district with a total of 4.93 lakh children who are eligible for vaccination.
The DM asked the District Education Officer to convene meetings with government and private schools and direct all institutions to organize parent-teacher meetings to ensure that the COVID vaccination campaign is successful.
Singh said, “Since Covid infections are being traced in a scattered manner rather than at a particular location, there is no need to declare containment zones at that time. However, the administration is closely monitoring the situation in the district and will take all necessary steps to contain the spread of the virus.
He advised people not to delay and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms like fever, dry cough or headache.
According to sources, the administration has already set up a telemedicine facility (6287590551 and 6287590552) and a control room (0612-2219090 and 2219033) to assist the needy people.
In addition to this, a massive mask-checking drive has been launched for which the District Magistrate has constituted 10 teams.
While three teams conduct campaigns on buses, autorickshaws and other vehicles, two teams check customers and dealers in shops.
The remaining teams conduct campaigns especially in congested areas like vegetable and fruit markets.
Chandrashekhar said, ‘In view of the increasing trend of Kovid infection, a total of 289 beds have been prepared for isolation and treatment of patients. There are 112 beds Patliputra Sports Complex, 152 hrs Ashoka Hotel, and 25 Khanqah in Mujibiya. After ‘Prakash Parv’, 200 additional beds will be made available at Kangan Ghat.”
