‘Pathaan’ Shows Increased Right After First Show, film Breaks Records in Advance Booking

New Delhi: The most awaited film of the year, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham starrer ‘Pathan’ has finally hit the big screens and the shows are getting houseful. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the trailer of the film promised action-packed VFX and the film looks to be performing well. ‘Pathan’ has created a new record in its advance booking with a total of 5.6 lakh tickets, which is the second highest advance booking grosser as compared to the previous blockbuster release.

Also, looking at the response, the shows of ‘Pathan’ have increased and it has become one of the films with the highest screen count. Right after the first show, 300 shows have been increased by the exhibitors. The total count of screens is now 8,000 screens (worldwide), 5,500 screens in India and 2,500 screens overseas.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer left behind films including Yash’s ‘KGF 2’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ in the advance booking race. While ‘KGF 2’ sold around 5.15 lakh tickets, ‘War’ managed to sell over 4.10 lakh tickets. It was SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ which was the highest advance booking grosser with 6.50 lakh sales. ‘Pathan’ has now created a new record in its advance booking with a total of 5.6 lakh tickets, which is the second highest advance booking grosser as compared to previous blockbuster releases.


The film is going to make a historic opening at the box office with a collection of Rs 45 to 50 crores on the first day. Especially considering its advance booking, box office revival will start with ‘Pathan’, which is very rare. It is a great start to 2023 despite it being a working day.

After the lukewarm performance of “Zero”, Shah Rukh took a break from films. In between, the actor has only made cameo appearances in R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (Hindi version) and the Ayan Mukerji-directed blockbuster Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles.
