‘Pathan’ presents the story of an Indian spy who, given his stealth and chameleon-like abilities, can slip into any system or enclosure and merge with the world he lives in. The film is Shah Rukh’s first of three films after a gap of over four years for the actor who was earlier seen in 2018 film ‘Zero’ which bombed at the box office.
Pathan is definitely special to Shah Rukh as the actor always wanted to be an action star. Talking about his character in ‘Pathan’, the superstar said in a statement: “Pathan is a simple guy, doing a lot of tough things and I think he is mischievous, he is tough, but take it in his stride. Doesn’t wear on sleeve. He trusts.” He is honest and I think he single-mindedly thinks of India as his mother.”
For the film, he has again teamed up with Deepika Padukone, together they have given epic blockbusters like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’.
Commenting on this reunion, Deepika and her impact in ‘Pathan’, Shah Rukh said: “You need someone of Deepika’s stature to be able to pull off a song sequence like ‘Besharam Rang’ and then you know The action to be able to, where she takes a guy and pulls him on top of her and thrashes him, she’s tough enough to do that. That kind of combination can only be achieved with someone like Deepika. Could have. It’s quite a layered character for an action heroine to say the least.”
