Imran Tahir said that it is the passion for the sport in the country that a cricketer does not need much exposure to shine in the country.

Veteran South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who is representing MI Emirates in the ongoing ILT20, on Thursday recalled his playing days in the IPL and said that bowling in batting-friendly conditions in the Indian cash-rich league is always important. A good challenge. ,

Talking about his experience of playing in India, the veteran spinner said that it is the passion for the game in the country that a cricketer does not need much experience to shine in the country.

“If you are a cricketer, you don’t need exposure to play in India. The love and support of the fans and the passion for cricket India is unique. It has been a great experience for me to play in the biggest league in the world for seven years. It’s an honor for me,” said Tahir on the eve of his team’s match against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

“It is not that all the pitches in India are spin friendly, especially if I talk about the pitches used in IPL, it is always a good challenge to bowl in batting friendly conditions,” he added.

Sharing his personal story of picking up leg-spin variations after spending 13 years on the field, the 43-year-old said he is happy that youngsters in modern cricket do not have to wait for so long.

“It is our duty as seniors to inspire the youngsters, which I did not have in my early days as a cricketer. MI Emirates has given great opportunity to youngsters to share dressing room with experienced guys. It took me 13 years to learn another variation of leg-spin bowling, but I’m glad today’s youngsters won’t have to wait that long.”
