Passenger slits ticket checker’s neck at railway station in Thane for THIS reason

A ticket checker employee of the Central Railway was injured by a passenger at Ambivli railway station in Thane, Maharashtra. Ticket checker Sunil Gupta was attacked with a blade when he checked for a valid ticket after being suspected of traveling without a passenger. The incident took place around 9 am at Ambivali railway station in Kalyan taluka, an official said. The officer said the accused allegedly took out a blade and attacked Gupta before fleeing the scene. Gupta’s neck was slit and he was taken to a nearby hospital, he said, adding that based on the complaint of the injured officer, an offense has been registered under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

In other news, in Maharashtra 98.22 per cent land has been acquired, in Gujarat 98.87 per cent land has been acquired and in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 100 per cent land has been acquired for the project.

The ministry said the physical progress as on November 23 was 24.1 per cent, with around 30 per cent work completed in Gujarat, while in Maharashtra around 13 per cent work has been completed so far.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is of 508 km and most of it is in Gujarat. In Maharashtra, the National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the project’s implementing agency, is to develop the Bandra-Kurla Complex and the network in Thane, Virar and Boisar.

Officials said that almost all civil works have been allotted to Gujarat, along with construction of piers (pillars) and all minor and major bridges across rivers. The work of installing girders on the ghats has also started.

A contract has also been allotted for the construction of a bullet train station and construction of an underground tunnel at the Bandra-Kurla Complex. Officials said that pier and girder work would soon be visible in Maharashtra as in Gujarat.

In Gujarat, the construction of bullet train stations has started in Anand, Surat, Vadodara, Bharuch, Vilimora, Vapi and Navsari districts.
