Pointing to the recent cases of brutal murders by partners in live-in relationships, the National Commission for Women (NCW) chief said that in these cases it has been observed that parents are aware of their children being in live-in relationships. were not supporting.

“In Nikki Yadav’s case, the person’s parents were pressurizing her to get married. Parents should support and respect their child’s choice. Even in Shraddha’s case, the family was not in touch with her.”

He said that parents should accept the live-in relationship of their children.

“Parents should support their children to be in a live-in relationship. We must also ensure that we treat our children with respect and avoid treating them as our property. This type of behavior can make children hesitant to share their thoughts and feelings. It’s important to treat our children, especially as they come of age, as our friends, allowing them to confide in us,” she said.
